Cannabis educator and sexual lubricant entrepreneur Chelsea Cebara says cannabis causes the microcapillaries—the small blood vessels in erectile tissue—to engorge with blood which is the same as the natural arousal response. “That has really amazing implications,” she says, “so it’s a natural thing to combine cannabis with sexuality in any number of ways.”
Recent studies show cannabis can make sex much better. “If anything, it’s associated with increased coital frequency,” said Michael Eisenberg, M.D. “The Relationship Between Marijuana Use Prior to Sex and Sexual Function in Women,” a 2019 study published in The Journal of Sexual Medicine, points out that most women who use cannabis before sex report increased drive, heightened orgasms and a decrease in pain.
